Md irfan, have you read taslima nasreen book Lajja? it is simply brilliant! you should read it!
Saw the Movie. Its an Average (not bad either). I too felt that it focused only on Hinduism. Nothing about Islam. It does not look good especially when the lead actor is a Muslim. Anyway, the production team would have known that it will ruffle a few feathers. I must say - they will never make such a movie on Islam because they know what the outcome will be. Remember Danish Cartoons, Satanic Verses etc. Hindus are soft. A few will protest for a few days and then all will be forgotten.

I think you need to look at the real facts of the Hindu religion. These things happen. Its just a eye opener.

I think . PM is not fool, This is democratic Country. everybody has right to his view.. be mature..
I don't get this..why is aamir khan mentioned every where..it isn't only his movie.. entire cast and crew, importantly the director, producer and writer are hindu.. when they don't find it offensive, who are these right wingers?? secondly, its not that there isn't any movie criticizing Islam - must watch 2 pakistani movies that won international acclaim - khuda ke liye and bol.. get real folks.. its about blind faith.. not faith

You think such protests have anything to do with 'reality' or logic? And people shd understand that mostly a country comments more on the majority religion. And that explains why one finds the most scathing commentary on christianity in the west. Having said that its important that govts do not succumb to ANY protests by ANY religious groups in the name of 'hurting sentiments'. Thats the only pragmatic way, anything else will lead to consistent narrowing of available space for expressions. I would be happy if the Govt refuses to succumb to this protests and also lifts the ban on books (that were banned earlier).
I agree with SC that those who disagrees with what is shown in PK should not watch the movie. BUT Why did they BAN "Satanic Verses" ? People who did not agree with the writer should not read the book.
So why this hypocrisy ?
You cannot have one set of rules for Hindus and another for other religion.

True. But in the name of 'why us', these groups are slowly pushing Hinduism to be indistinguishable from the Abrahamic religions. Thats not good. Instead there shd be protests against those who ask for bans on satanic verses or davinci code kind of things in India. Emulating wrong things isnt going to benefit the common citizen.
