Remembering Rafi : The Golden Voice to our ears
by JAAGRUK INSAAN on Dec 24, 2014 03:00 PM

Mohd. RAFI sahib was a legend .
Gifted with a passionate, Godly voice, it is just impossible to forget this godly voice from our memory ever!

The day, when he passed away at BANDRA Hospital on 30th JULY 1980, night 10.30pm, I was just passing in a Local Train of Mumbai thru Bandra railway station only.

The news of his passing away was aired at 11.00pm on AIR.

It was just a shock for us, the lovers of his godly voice.

We just cant imagine a day on RADIO, without his song heard any day!

Long live his memory & his songs for us!

RAfi Saaab, immortal as the Everest, deep as the Indian ocean
by shashi kadapa on Dec 24, 2014 02:56 PM

Rafi Saab set such a high bar, that no one has yet crossed it. I feel that a number of heroes such as Dev Saab, Shammi Saab, and others, became famous because they acted Rafijis songs. What strikes me is that we have so little live recordings/ singing sessions of his. Open any channel now and see mediocre, singers howling away everywhere. Who remembers these modern songs, they remain 'hits' for a couple of weeks, and are soon forgotten...This true hallmark of a great singer is the immortality and long recall of his voice, that charms even the younger generation. I will certainly buy the book that Shahid Rafi Saab is writing
