It is shocking how ' greats ' are always analysed so badly and in a terribly competitive way by pulling down others too. It is always good to leave such greats alone and not bring them to the levels of others.. I am absolutely sure in no time the discussions here will bring in religion and politicians too

Mohd.Rafi is no doubt one of the greatest singers of India. His voice is melody. His humility good.
We need not make comparisons. Music is too huge for us to gauge.
As a person Rafi saab shall be remembered as a good human being too. It does not matter what the world gave to him.
It is really what he gave to the world.
May his Soul rest in Peace. Amen

Mohd.Rafi will remain unforgettable for next 50years.He was blessed with all round quality. Even to Manna Dey in a TV interview was categorical in superiority of Mohd Rafi in Hindi film songs as the best.

Who has asked you to forget Md Rafi? remember him for 500 years, why only 50, if your memory supports you that long. But please do not mention quotes in isolation. In an interview aired on Star Ananda, recorded on 1st May 2011 ( Manna's birthday), he had said ,a voice like Kishore's had never come before and it is unlikely that it will happen in future either. Check up the archives, instead of repeating what MD had said ages ago, simply to prove your point. Problem is , Rafi fans are self proclaimed music experts, who love passing judgments proclaiming his superiority. Since 1969 the Kishore rage continues, Rafi was packed off into semi retirement for 10 years, you know , I know and the world knows. No matter how much you guys howl, you cannot change history, but of course, you can continue in your efforts to try and distort it.

Rafi Birthday
by on Dec 24, 2015 02:27 PM

The author, like a typical bigoted Rafi fan, has used even the legend's birthday to bash Kishore. The fact that Rafi fans can never leave Kishore alone, is the most telling proof of who is the "most" popular. But that apart, music is to meant to be enjoyed, critically analyzing a personal favourite vis- a-vis another contemporary, leads to the cognitive conclusion that you possibly listen more of the other person than Rafi himself. Anyway, a very happy birthday to Rafi Saab and some more of "Keep up the Kishore bashing" to his fans.
