A very good story alone win in cenemas, not for mass/advertisement/promotional ads. Mere a name could not save the entire status.

it is once again proved that A R Rehman is a just a brand and now symbol of making total failure in film music. Perhaps he has lost interest completely

A big flop - utter waste of time testing audience patience
by Soderling on Dec 12, 2014 06:25 PM  | Hide replies

This movie must have come in the 70/80s. Ravikumar made a mess of this film and just borrowed sequences from his earlier Rajini films. Even the so-called Rajini style/mannerisms is missing and the film just drags endlessly testing audience patience. The worst part of this movie apart from screen play is the CG work which is so shabby and just exhibit amateurish animation. Almost the entire star cast is wasted and the heroines look jaded and out of sorts compelled to dance and sing with a 64 years old old man is really an embarrassing job which even Rajinikanth quoted as punishment from God. Perhaps he doesn't realize that by such cohabition with girls fit to be his grand daughters, he is punishing the audience. Even the antagonist in this film is untraceable and doesn't have much to perform. AR Rahman disappoints big time. In a nutshell, another mega flop on the lines of Baba, Kochadaiyan and Kushelan.

Looks like Ravikumar cant really make good Rajni movies with his own story. Stories for his two super hit movies with Rajni, Muthu and Chandramukhi, were lifted from Malayalam movies.

How does that matter? By releasing it in 100s and 100s of screens, they would have got all the money within a day. And there are people who would go and give their money the first day without even knowing whether the movie is worth their money. Its this opportunity to earn the money within a day or two simply thru promotion, that makes the movie makers so callous and give junk to the people.

Even one star is a tad too much for this bore!
