Deserves Bharat Ratna
by mysticwalker on Aug 21, 2014 09:31 PM  | Hide replies

He contributed so much in his life. He taught over all over the world for 75 years. Made India proud. Nobody knew Yoga outside India 50-70 years ego. Even in India it was only for elite those days. He single handedly worked hard to bring it to the common people. Now Yoga has accessible to many common people. Time magazine named him as top 100 influential people in the world. And yet Indian govt doesn't recognize him. People Tendulkar get Bharat Ratna who many have contributed less than 1% of what BKS Iyengar has done. It is a shame that he was recognized in this own country.

There is no country on Earth which was not touched by him either directly or indirectly. Only a socially blind person can comment like you do.

Such was the mission of BKS when he took upon himself to spread health and happiness through Yoga
