While what my friends here have said about Manju Warrier are true, the new Manju is disappointing. The old Manju had a natural radiance, the new Manju is an air-brushed version. Manju never used such garish make-up in the good old days. Now, perhaps due to a sense of insecurity, she looks as if she is wearing a mask which has done a nose job. Hope she gets back to being the good old Manju of old.
Please don't compare Manju and Jyotika. Manju was all original. She was a great performer, with a great voice modulation and absolutely spontaneous and natural. She also was a great dancer. On the contrary, Jyotika was never known for her acting skills. All she did was exaggerated facial expressions like a Barbie commercial, she just made faces and rolled her eyes. Jyotika's voice was dubbed by dubbing artists like Savita. Voice is an integral part of an actor's performance. Plus, she could hardly dance. Watch her so-called dance in Chandramukhi and you know. Except for Kaakha Kaakha, she was always this shrill-childish, annoying heroine. I hope marriage and motherhood has brought in a change and some real talent.

I agree with you that Manju is better than Jyo talent wise. She was more natural and had a great voice, whereas Jyothika just had hers mostly dubbed by the annoying Savita. I do have to admit that Jo gave some nuanced performances during the latter part of her career, such as Pachaikili Muthucharam, Vettaiyaadu Vilayaadu, and Mozhi. Her expressions were restrained and her dubbing artist was not Savitha, so she was quite good to watch.

Savitha is a veteran Dubbing artist. she has given life to the careers of simran and jothika. still savitha is the undisputed queen of kollywood for dubbing to leading actress! whether it is Meera jasmine or Jothika.
