Rediff always believe in publishing misleading news. This is not an exemption. Had Mr. Phalke alive, he would have hanged himself forhonouring such ineligible artists
Such a misleading title, thanks to the misleading organisers of the new awards.
The prestigious, Dadasaheb Phalke Award is India's highest award in cinema given annually by the Government of India for lifetime contribution to Indian cinema. What this article refers to is a Bollywood Award recently introduced by an organisation called Dada Saheb Phalke Acting and Film Academy, which doles out awards to Bollywood (read Hindi Cinema) and Hindi TV serials under several categories.
This newly constituted academy is also misleading people by using the title "145th Dada Saheb Phalke Awards" (Do you want people to believe that these awards have been given since 14 years??)
On your part, rediff, you could have given a headline like, "Farhan and Juhi receive honours from the Dada Saheb Acting and Film Academy, instead of publishing whatever was handed over by their PR man to your journo.
ROFL, title (farhan akhtar and Juhi chawla bag Dada Saheb Phalke awards), its the height of the blunder mistake by rediff. still not able to realize it.
