I think it is a wasteful exercise voting in India unless the entire electoral system is revamped. 1. There should be only two or three political parties (this will probably obviate coalition government thus preventing horse trading, haggling, etc. 2. Jail birds convicted for more than say, one month or so should not be allowed to stand as candidates (those jailed for a long period - how can they serve the people). 3. Candidates should be able to contest only from one constituency - if contested from more than one and if elected from all the places, resigned seats will have to be subjected to repolling thus costing the exchequer avoidable expenses.
so many freeloaders during iifa.. never see their movies but they will reappear for free iifa trip and this time bumper offer..florida ..
and bad planning by both iifa mgmt and of course our spineless so called stars..by all the ones who didn't wait a day longer to vote
and its not just the stars.. but all the iifa support and star staff..which adds up to a lot of missing votes.. Of course.. no guarantee these ppl would care to vote even if they were in town.. but now its a total no show

Mate, don't forget that it's the Indian's craze for Filmland that makes the World exploit this weakness. it's we who need Filmy Stars n Starlets for everything in our lives. So no surprises that they're being used by Govt. also to promote everything.
