It may be a case of NaMo effect. Delhi is playing its cards at all levels to demean Gujarat and therefore NaMo. What Gujarat has achieved could not have been possible if CON-gress was in power.
And if the movie is showing Gujarat in bad light then it has to be a case of the selection committee being over-ruled by powers in the Government.

North has always blown away Indias oscar chance
by Rahul VA on Sep 23, 2013 07:42 PM

North Indians typical dominating mentality and their stupid belief that Mumbai/Hindi Films only represent India, is the main reason Indian movies are not taken seriously and many Regional movies not getting oscar recognition. Not to mention their so called award shows like IIFA which is nothing but a Stupid song and dance show which portratys only Hindi as Indian makes mockery of Indian movies

Another of the scam smell, a Gujarati movie made by a Goan living in Mumbai - the dishonest, insincere depiction of the culture is obvious. And here people to please their masters everything sullying the image of state of Gujarat is promoted, lunkheads don't they know ultimately it is the image of India that's vilified internationally!

Stupid comments are beeing made based on some hearsay and one single critic\'s opinion.Suddenly politics is discussed just because it is a Gujarati film.Someone commented about the juries. Are you aware of their backgrounds ? Morever, India is a country of hypocrits. Every conceivable crime happens in India and many of them are kept under wraps or hushed up as it is not in consonance with our so called moral values. It is the duty of a true artist to depict reality and not cover it under wraps. I give a damn to the fact that people outside India will be knowing the truth. Let them.In any case, in this cyber world, as if people are waiting to see this film only to know the truth about India.People can do so at the click of a mouse. As if our politicians have projected our country to the outside world in a very good light.Morever, every year, why should a Bollywood film get elected for best picture nomination ? There are far superior films made in e.g, Bengali , Malayalam etc. What is the success rate of Bollywood anyway internationally except for glamour value ?

Generally National Award winning films have no takers. I know for certain in 1973 the Rigional National Awardees had demanded from The Govt. that they should be paid their lodging and boarding money as they could not afford to come to Delhi from far ends like Madras, Bihar and other places. And finally its very easy to criticise any thing from any one.

No acceptable act

This is very unfortunate that to just shake of political rivalry, Congress is damaging countries reputation.

Why Indian art movies always negative? Are they funded by missionaries to get more fund for conversion? Is Congress is in control of non-Indic religion traders?
