There is no harm in expressing their views about RS saying it is the film of the years. Sen should have said Hindi Film. We have a rotten films like Grand Masti coming through Bollywood. We have films with similar theme brought in other languages which Sen might not have seen. Those may even far better than Lunch Box.

People hate Hindi coz it is being forced down their throats by the Govt of India and public sector like banks. The same money if spent on literacy, poverty alleviation, and population control in North India, India would have been a super power by now. Even ICICI Bank did not find a good English byline instead forces 'Khayaal aapka' which does not mean anything for South Indians.

That Hindi is a national language is your opinion. You can't name a language and thrust it on the nation telling it is national. It is your notion that Hindi is national language. It was never the language of the people of the south or east or for that matter west and northernmost.

@Chandran - hindi ais the national language as per the constitution of India, and that was definitely not written by me!!!

Constitution of India had majority of Hindi mongers. Thank God a few of them objected, otherwise English would not have been added to the list of languages.

This is the problem with you guys. First learn the Indian constitution. There is no such thing as "National Language". That proposal has been stuck down. One not willing to learn Hindi doesnt mean that they want to disassociate themselves from India. Can you show any south Indian who doesnt learn the local language of wherever he or she has settled? But you see that most people from the Hindi speaking states never learn the local language of where they work even till their retirement! So much for "Indianness" !!

I too hate the idea of calling Hindi a national language and you should be ashamed of calling Hindi a national language.

@Chandran, it seems you irritate with the word HINDI. I am a South Indian, and I like Hindi because of it is very beautiful language to learn, read and to speak.

Don't say generic statement like "It was never the language of the people of the south or east or for that matter west and northernmost." Only for Tamil people (not all South India), this would be applicable, as most of them don't have this language in their education. National Language is must required for any country for better integrity among people. For any one, first priority is the mother tongue, but every one in India should at least learn National Language to avoid such these criticism on other languages. We should get proud as Indian if every in this country can able to speak Hindi, because it is declared as National Language.

You cannot declare a language me, my people, my ancestors never knew as a national language. I think English is the national language of India. By the way, it is not just Tamils most of whom who do not have Hindi as a language that this is applicable. It does not applies to even other states even though Hindi is being forced in the schools of these states. Hindi is a ploy to take away jobs from South Indians by first teaching them Hindi, then criticizing their Hindi, then telling they are not proficient in Hindi. There are imperialistic designs worse than what British Empire had in declaring Hindi a national language.

India has no official national language.[4] The official language of the Union Government of Republic of India is Standard Hindi, while English is the secondary official language.[5] The constitution of India states that "The official language of the Union shall be Hindi in Devanagari script."[6] a position supported by a High Court ruling.[7]

There is no such thing as National Language in India. Sometime back Gujarat High court has also categorically stated that There is no National Language in India. Many northies simply assume that Hindi is National Language. And regarding official Language, teh Constitution clearly states that each state will have their own Official Language. Some people never want to learn the truth.
