Why do you get worked up when someone points out that a similar film had been made earlier in the South? It’s a fact that until the late 60s, copying direction was north to south (primarily by the Tamil movies industry) and in the recent past the direction has changed and the Bollywood has been liberally copying Music and stories from the Tamil industry. People surely will react if there is consistent emphasis on “Indian film means Bollywood” and “Indian language means Hindi”. Amitabh also made a comment on the former. This is despite the fact that its the non-Hindi film industries which have been consistently giving sensible movies. Now regarding the similarity of this movie with the yester year Tamil movie, the similarity ends with the similar broad theme – love between the two who never met. This movie is completely different from the other one in terms of the treatment. This is more nuanced and so surely bomb in the Hindi box office. Probably would have been a hit in Kerala if it was made in Malayalam.

Nice to know. Our constitution respects the diversity but many people dont seem to. Many dont know or refuse to accept the fact that our Constitution does not recognise any language as "National Language". The spirit of India lies in its diversity. One language-one religion concept is against the very idea of India. And everyone should learn the language of where one lives and not expect the locals to learn/know his or her language.

However, diversity does not mean spitting venom against Hindi, or Hindi films- and trashing them as a whole.
Just, for this article, a nice film which is getting standing ovations at all films festivals across the world, is being demeaned by many because it happens to come from the industry where a trashy films like Grand Masti is being made.

Every one will be gone case because a bigger gone case is trying to force Hindi on everyone in India. One bloke is asking if you are trying to dissociate from India just because one does not know Hindi. For this ignoramus, India is Hindi, that is why India is like this. Unless, one strongly condemns this attitude India will never develop.

Tomorrow, this guy will try to force everyone to eat dhokla, next he will try to force 'honour killings', then he will force everyone to follow his deity, then his toothpaste. There will be no end to this kind of forcing others to do his bidding.
