Original Zanjeer was a very good movie not a great movie. But the star cast, story, music and the performances made it a success. In the new Zanjeer could not do well in any of those areas. And when Teja compared with Amitabh, it is a disaster for Teja. There is just one Amitabh in the history of a mankind. He is not the greatest actor. But still he is unique.

amitab was a boy when he has done the movie. Ramcharan's MAGADHHERA and then you come conclusion.BIGB never can do the role don by RAMCHARAN in MAGADHEERA.

But zanjeer was never a timeless classic. I personally found it pretty average movie. Maybe it became a super hit because of starcast or maybe it suited people's sensibility at that time. But who would like a story like zanjeer to be retold in 2013 and that too with ram charan teja!! Even without watching this movie, I can say that it would be bad.

I think it was timing which made Zanjeer great...i think its the first movie which showcased an angry protogonist with morals who fights system..which changed the indian cinema...if we see it now having watched all others who followed the trend we wont find anything new

Amitab was too good in the original. One cannot compare the new hero. he looks idiot. incomparable. Not only Ram Charan, his father also do not have acting skills. They project their heroines like cabera dancers to make their film a hit.
Guys, The first line is an extreme insult to all the legions of fans of Amitabh. Zanjeer a bad film ? Mr.Raja Sen you have been drinking kool aid ..wake up You are in India, either you are a kid or were abused as a kid but please, don't say this infront of hardcore Bachchan fans, Zanjeer changed everything in Indian cinema of which you are a byproduct too..

dude zanjeer was actually a pretty average movie. IF you show it to a person who has no specific feeling for amitabh, he won't find it very interesting.

Raja Sen is right.. Original Zanjeer is an average movie, not great.. It seems your exposure to good cinema is very limited..
not seen this movie and not planning to see either.... not sure of script , story, music, acting skills etc.... but one thing people should not forget is when you make a remake of such a successful movie that too being played by some of the legends.... people is surely going to compare .... also... Amitabh also was relatively newcomer when the original came.... that being said... you cant just use the same famous name and throw dirt at viewers expecting that itna famous movie , famous star ka remake hey public to dekhegahi.... "Apna Paisa to Vassool hey" .... this attitude doestn work...
Supreme Court should bring some law Remaking.. :-).. so that audience doesn't have to go thru such tortures.. With Ram Charan Tejpatta playing the iconic role what else one can expect from this movie ??
I have never seen this rediff giving a review appreciating a movie and its effort whole-hearted. This is why Rediff is not read by anyone. Do not be cynical.
