Manna Dey

Not sure there was any need to vitriol against Lata and Asha (Mangeshkar's as the author refers). Why say they are not accessible to lesser mortals, would have needed an identity parade blah blah? You are writing about the great Manna Day, write about him, don't diatribe against others. No need to show greatness of a person by showing others down. More so, it was highly irrelevant, looks like a complete detours and some deep anguish the author has against Mangeshkars.

Ms. Bhattacharya's observations about Manna Dey actually answers Mr. Bharatan's analysis of the Legend's career. He was too large-hearted a person to enter into the race of being number one singer, and staying there. He was happy in his own space, he lived a full life.
