He was the last of our singing legends to leave for the heavenly abode. It is indeed unfortunate that only 70 people turned up for his cremation in Bangalore. Had he been cremated in Bengal, 7 lakh people would have turned up. My condolences to the bereaved family...may his soul rest in peace.

back in mumbai in the funeral of Rajesh Khanna all the big A,big B ,big C and so on of the film industry was seen crying mourning and displaying their acting talents live dressed in crisp whites because the even was extensively covered by media and they were seen in all channels all the day.Why should they waste their time when media is not covering it in Bangalore?.

Very rightly said ..If one has true respect and love for departed soul, distance should't be excuse. Sending messages is not enough to pay tribute .. Bollywood's love for legend is simply hollow ...!!

Yes, that's Bollywood's norm - will come only if camera's there or booze or at least, girls; otherwise, get lost.
Manna Dey was a Class act and the last of the 4 icons still standing others being Mohd.Rafi,Kishore Kumar & Mukesh. Despite his class he was never given the credit due to him.He was so humble that he credits the other 3 singers as better than him ,hence the low number of songs sung by him during his tenure. All music lovers have suffered a monumental loss in his death. His music has been renedered immortal and live linger for ever.Bollywood has shown its TRUE COLORS by not standing by him during the last rites. This was expected as usual, though many would shed crocodile tears and pay artificial tributes later. This is LIFE.
Fall of a TITAN.His all India popularity did not measure up to his virtuosity and brilliance.Of course he was a legend in Bengal for a long time. Songs, which others found difficult to sing, were perfomed with aplomb. May his soul rest in peace.
Technically he was the best singer of bollywood specially indian classical. But his voice sounds too mature and did not suit any super star of that period except Raj Kapoor. May his soul rest in peace.
WE CALL BENGALI. Why Kannada film industry were spotted in the crematorium. why not west bengal or Tollywood ? where is west bengal political parties ? only showoff
