There was a lot of hype generated when the first murder movie starring Emraan Haashmi and Mallika Sherawat was released. The songs were good. However, when I went to see the movie I accepted the sex quotient. But what disappointed me most was that there was no murder in the movie Murder. Seriously, if Mallika in a fit of anger might have hit Emraan and in her emotional state might have thought that he was dead. But seriously then her husband who had followed her to the place also feels that the guy is dead. Two people mistaking a person as dead, but who was actually alive sounded absolutely stupid to me. I quit the theatre and it had not even reached the interval stage and later came to know that the post interval period was about the investigation of a murdered man, who was actually alive. Murder without a real murder was simply undigestable to me and without any sense. And guess what. The audience made it a super hit.
Aarzoo (1999), starring Madhuri Dixit, Akshay Kumar and Saif Ali Khan, has to be the worst big movie ever made in terms of absolute lack of sense, taste or logic. It almost was that the Director had promised the stars a trip to Edinburgh and shot at whatever places were available, with no rhyme or reason. The number of absurdities (an Aer Lingus flight between Delhi and Mumbai; a small plane that takes off from Delhi but crash lands somewhere near Kerala;.. too many to narrate, really.
