Memorable works of Rituparna
by pulak taraphdar on Jun 01, 2013 10:26 PM

"Last Lear" where Amitabh Bachhan played the role of an actor obsessed with Shakespeare,"Abohaman", "Dosar", "Chikher bali", "Naukadubi","Shubha Muharat" are some of the unforgettable films by Rituparna apart from those mentioned in the article. His acting in "Memories in March" was awesome. Ofcourse his works were meant for mature audience.

His last film Chitragangada is yet to be released. It will be an epic. I found a clipping in youtube on the level of research and studies Rituparna did just to shoot a tagore song "Guru guru.." Amazing.

I HARDLY REMEMBER ANY EPIC MOVIE OF MANI RATNAM AFTER ROJA. ALL MOVIES OF MANI RATNAM HAS AN UNEXPECTED AND DISSAPOINTING ENDING. RITUPOORNA IS FAR ABOVE OF MANI

Yes. “Ashani sanket” was an epic by Ray no less than the famous Panther Panchali. It is unfortunate that we have not learnt any lesson from the cruelest man made famine. Now the danger is larking again with so called “liberalization” of economy.

It is sad that Rituparna passed away at such a young age. This guy was really talented and was successful in bringing back educated Bongs to cinema halls.
