I had been reading about people trashing Raja Sen for years now, this is the first movie where I had the first hand experience of comparing his review to an actual film. Maybe what Raja is suffering from is the critics fatigue, where one cant see the thing for what it is, but, what it could be and always compare bits and pieces to bits and pieces from past movies. I had not seen any renditions of previous Gatsby movies nor did I go with any pre conceived notions, so for me Toby was Toby and not Spiderman, and Leonardo was not Aviator, and Baz was not Moulan Rouge. It is a well made movie with a brilliant last half an hour, there are so many layers to the lad protagonists in that 1/2 an hour that you would marvel at both writing and direction.

Wow. I have lived many years in Australia and nary a comment have I seen about the journalist's parentage. What makes you sooooo angry and frustrated ? Give others a break and learn to live with differences of opinion, even if you don't like the person.
Well to be very frank, just that one glimpse of that man in the otherwise-i-would-be deeply-two-minded-bout-watching-the-movie, will strongly inspire me to go for it whatsoever. btw excellent review, and made me all the more ispired to watch it.
