it cannot be .tamils have not matured to accept homosexuality content in mainstream films. this is the third or fourth malayalam film brushing that.
Oh even I watched it coz of lot of hulla bullah from movie goers. Other than the suspense element I didn't enjoy the movie at all. Lot of loop holes in the script and conventional filmy dialogues and situations (eg. Kunjan's pledge recitation scene). Prithviraj's controlled and restrained expressions does look natural at places and doesn't suit in certain situations. Rahman's look more real and restrained. As for the climax, the makers could have been more realistic and practical as the theme is subtle at the same time the world seems being more tolerable than how the movie treated. Back ground score is loud and rattling. Camera work is average. Female characters are pushed aside completely But watch it for Prithviraj who dares to agree to do this bold character for his conventional and conservative malayali audience.
How can this movie be seen in other parts of India. Hindi channels mostly show dubbed movies which are mostly dumb and make no sense, typically masala movie which are already over dozed by bollywood.
when a movie like mumbai police is released and receive appreaciation, people do notice but in absence of dubbed version we end up getting nothing but rave reviews.
Malyalam cinema should also start dubbing their art in other regional languages especially Hindi, there are quite a big lot tierd of Telugu masala movies (no offences plz).
i think prithvi is wise enough now, that he is not giving interviews :) ..
we keralites need a bit camouflage while interviews, else would say that the person is arrogant!... Though we also know that the so called "polite before media" persons deeds off-camera..anyways..hatsoff to the young actor who is bold enough to take this role in this movie.
Every movie goer is different and so are there likes and dislikes. Everyone has a right to disagree but some of the commenst that I see just makes one wonder what kind of society we live in.
Anyways not here to preach
Saw the movie yesterday amid high skpteism considering the trash that comes out these days in name of movie and must say was pleasantly surprised.
The movie is fresh and manages to keep to tied to your seat. Loved the way the movie was woven and the suspense was maintained till the end. For a change I feel even the background score really contributed to the movie effect.
I wont say its the best movie malayalam industry has produced but its one of the best value for money movies in recent times.
All actors did a great job - I for one feel I got value for money.
