He will be sent to Bail (or Rail) not to Jail (like he is err0rist not terr0rist).
He should be lucky that he got convicted only for the arms not for the conspiracy. He is always shadowy charcter even though he comes from a respectable family. You can judge a person by the company he keeps. He always has connections with maf1a. It amazing that some people support him & still criticize in general that our justice system doesn't work.
Agreed he had guns in his house. But did he use them or kill anybody? This is the big question. People who have killed 100s of people are out roaming freely and this distraught kid when he had not killed or harmed anybody is serving jail term. Something is fishy about Indian penal system and need to be fixed.

crime is crime. law is equal for every body.
if someone steals your money, would you be thankful to him for not killing you??
if that's the case, everyone will get guns illegally and that would create a headache for authorities, while underworld would spread their filth even further!!
sanjay dutt was completely aware of his actions. he may have been gullible...but what can you do? create a law based on people's IQ??
its a country were people views depends on frame & money. he might have done gud work but how does it justify his serious offence. There r quite a few people who have suffered like him for 20 yrs when thy cant get way why should he? even othrs have families & very poor unlike his family who will still live comfortable life... if he should be pardoned so should be othrs... like Italian marines who did a crime because of mistaken identity & not pre planned murder..
