Hi Peecee, Juries in the national award selection are normally old people who cant eat barfi being diabetic ot cant digest it Paan is the one thing they like; hence the award was given to paansingh tomar

going by the same logic, they all liked old man annu kapoor; hence gave him the best supporting actor award
Because of Barfi, India lost chance to get some award in Oscar as well, Movie "Paan Singh Tomar" should have been send to Oscars, but something fishy happened. Irrfan, Tigmanshu Dhulia & movie overall did a great job.
