bala knew the importance of vairamuthu to the film. Thats y he didnt keep neither ilayaraja nor yuvan in the movie.since vairamuthu had problem with yuvan and ilayarajs.this is the reason why bala opted GV to the movie
This is an another good documentory..But There are other documentory types of films are also coming but we are not recongising them.( like VAGAI SOODAVA by Director Sargunam). I have feeling like , whether we blindly follow Directors instead of theme.
From my view, Second half of the movie is fine Except that voluntarily added Thannai Thane Song.First half no comments
Thunderous Applause to Bala. The epitome of all Tamil Movie Makers. The success of this great epic is it leaves you with some kind of emotional impact. If oe can relate to modern era the underlying theme is relevant even we won our independance. Every character says the story. If one who is seriously think reality cinema is here to stay this movie seriously needs to be recognized for the simple fact that its purely potrays human emotion. It is not very to bring the subtle emition outbursts that too by each and every human faces shiwed un thus movie. Atleast i for one that Great Directors like Bala truly deserves the highest awards!!
I have watched all of Bala's Movies. It looks like Bala is eternal pessimist. I wonder if and when he will make a movie wherein the hero gets the proper parenting during childhood. Till now in all his movies the heroes are deprived of parenting.
I watched the movie...Very good movie technically. But I feel something is missing: 1. What happens to Rasa's uncle who dies in the middle of a marriage celebration. It is shown that Rasa's uncle (periyappa) is close to his heart. His dead boy is hidden during the marriage and the Rasa is kept in dark about his death. Obviously one would expect a follow-up scene after the marriage. He could have at least shown his cremation. Also Periyamma is forgotten since Periyappa's death. 2. What is the reason behind the slaves overwhelmingly accepting their plight? When it is amply clear that their life cannot get worse anymore, why don't they revolt? Because the people controlling them carry few wooden sticks and they are very few in number. On the other hand the slaves are great in number. They could have tried something even if there is no guarantee of success. 3. It is shown that Kankaani gets the people's signature rather thumb impression on blank bond papers. What is the need of it? These papers are required to carry out cheat and escape from the clutches of law. But movie shows there is no such thing. What is the point in getting signatures on vethu papers from vethu (who have got nothing) people?

Ya in fact the film seems to depict the worse scenario. There is no effort to find a solution by the actors. There is no drinking, dance, se.. etc. There is no discussion amongst the people about their situation

Actually, they are not calling the police also. There would be some response from somebody if you look for help. The people never unite, etc. It is just a dramatization

for your questions answers are below, as I understood: 1. periyappa should have been buried by default...why do you expect a separate scene for that ..this is understood 2.Thats how our forefathers were, if they had knowledge to ask questions like you then they wouldn't been gone slave. for how many good cause in this modern world you raised your hands or given support? don't you know how many people are creating problems around you, have questioned everyone? have your ever quetioned a politician/criminal who is doing some crimes?...this is pshychology...there should be one person to initiate the revolt? whos is that? this also suits how British made us slave..... 3. Its a kind of promise they made...those people stick to their promise...if they disobey they feel guilty, its a kind of commitment they had given. Its a true history ....u can't question how it happened, it just happened thatsit
