I think most often Raja gets the brunt for just being honest. Of course, cinema is too subjective a thing for any reviewer / critic to be taken on face value. What works for someone doesn't necessarily work for the other. But I guess, the anonymity of the internet allows almost anyone to be unjustifiably rude to someone just because they don't share the same view point. I have read a lot of reviews posted by Raja. Some agreeable and some not so entirely. But I do think, many a time, Raja manages to rate the film pretty much in line with what he writes in the review. You probably would see more stars/points on some other forum, but if you actually read the review they rarely reflect the rating attributed to the film. I kinda feel there are some cowards out there, who just wait for Raja to write a review so that they can put in a comment or two and pull him down. Just for the heck of it. Probably never understanding the finesse it requires to sit and review a film objectively.
And yes, I do agree, 3 Idiots was not the best film to come out of Bollywood. And yes, Salman is the most saleable "star" out there but also the worst "actor" among the stars. But I guess, people dont want a honest opinion. They just want thier opinion to be shared by everyone. Welcome to the Internet!

i wholly second your opinion...of course, am not always in sync with the reviewer, but more than often, i feel he's just being cornered for the FUN of it...tad sad!
Found the notes of this review from inside sources, here are the words Mr. Raja Sen discovered this week:- 1. Titular - existing or being such in title only; nominal; having the title but none of the associated duties, powers, etc. 2. Quirks - a peculiarity of action, behavior, or personality; mannerism: 3. Gruff - rough, brusque, or surly: 4. Middling - mediocre; ordinary; commonplace; pedestrian 5. Smarmy - excessively flattering 6. Flatulent - having unsupported pretensions; inflated and empty; pompous 7. Farcically - resembling farce; ludicrous; absurd. 8. Epiphanies - a sudden, intuitive perception of or insight into the reality or essential meaning of something, usually initiated by some simple, homely, or commonplace occurrence or experience. 9. Decrepit - worn out by long use; dilapidated 10. Wheezing - to breathe with difficulty and with a whistling sound

Supriya, except for perhaps Middling, Smarmy and Epiphanies other words were certainly not that difficult for a generation educated in English, constantly smsing, chatting, online, mailing or speaking in English.

hahaha.......good one.
all the reviewers in other sites feel the movie is great, but as usual, as happened with 3 idiots, raja feel it is just average. Typical raja, and now after this he will write articles in some other newspapers like Mumbai Mirror etc., to justify his ratings, just like he did of criticising the character of Kareena in 3idiots.
The moment raja says it is a bad and others say it is good, guys, please go and watch it.

that's what we have to ask raja too, does he watch movie for entertainment or does just to criticise it without any logic?

I understand, no body believes in Raja Sen's review. We have seen many movies rated highly going flops, and vice versa.
