it was a fine film- actind and music esp.ly. but the theme was not. a crucial dialogue was something like : if by mistake, I possess someTHING that belongs to my friend; what should i do? waheeda: u Should return. And hero decides to leave Waheeda to Rehman! What about W's feelings? This pinched me even then. now it'll look rediculous to most. - P.C.S

Gurudutt was a genius and the magic he could create with black white film and primitive technology, our so called superhereos of these days can not even imagine.Movies have become senseless and music has become nonsence.everybosy must have heard chaudvi ka chand thousand times yet it sounds so fresh and endearing, thats the magic of shakee, gurudutt and rafi saab.sadly the current generation is devoid of such a melody. what remains now is just rythem and no melody.

Mohd Rafi immortalised the film with his voice for the title song and made it such a big hit.Even after 53 years the song mesmerises all those who hear the song.
