I watched the movie first day and first show. What a movie it turned out to be. Dhanush is supperb so is Sonam. Only wish Dhanush had UP accent since he was playing Banarasi boy role. First half of the movie is hilarious... Second half gets really tensed and one get to see the love / hate relationship between protagonists of the movie. Music is soothing. The movie is a lot different love story then what we see in other movies. I wish the ending was a little different. The movie explores the flaws of the characters. How the blunders of protagonists affect the lives of surrounding people. Totally new idea and totally different movie. one get to see lots of real life scene. Dhanush, being a Tamilian, his accent was not bad. His acting is superb. After watching movie, we get to know why he is national aware winner. I would say that it is best movie of Sonam Kapoor so far. It depicts how an average guy, tries to woo a girl.. this is real life story... In movies we see characters larger than life... at least for a change we see a character who is average.. A must watch!!!!
Most North Indians are actually black skinned, yet they call South Indians dark, as if being dark-skinned in somehow inferior. It shows lack of refinement and proper education among the North Indian, and also a paucity of mirrors in that part of the country.
Gandhiji was thrown from a train South Africa becuase he was brown skinned. What has changed since then? Aren't we a bunch of hypocrites? When someone outside the country calls us names, we are all up in arms. When we do it, it is just humour. Look at all the references to Dhanush & South Indians in general - chaiwalla, kaamwaala, driver, peon, chaprasi, dark skinned etc. Each one of these wallas are actually serving our nation. Racism is in our blood. Pathetic. And more than half of these comments are coming from urban folks.

Gandhi himself was a racist until he felt the brunt of it... quite an opportunist actually
Haven't watched the film but liked the promos & also the music. Its always gd to watch Hindi movies set in the Hindi belt than Bombay, US, UK where the protagonists usually speak grammatically incorrect Hindi. Rahman, after a long time has managed to give different music, true to Benares belt, quite a change from his repetitive Sufi numbers of late. Re: the abusive language, its possible that its commonly used among friends in small town UP and the director wanted to be realistic? Let's not look at everything from an urban elite lens.

Yeah in promos Dhanush's acting looks good except whenever Sonam touches him ... The expression he gives at that time are akin to some C grade heroine indulging in u know what !!!!
