Dude the movie is a hit. So obviously a majority of the viewers like it. Dhanush is running to the bank smiling, while you are grumpy typing your frustrations on a borrowed computer. Ha Ha.

I am a south indian who have travelled around the north and found that most north indians are dark skinned people with fair skinned ones being a minority.
People like ajay devgan or irfan khan are the vast majority. Unfortunately the fair skinned ones looks down upon the north indian dark skinned ones in some kind of racial complex.
The irony is that the fair skinned ones are themselves victims of racism in the west as their level of fair snd lovely skin does not match up to the white skin standard of the west.

Skin color could be a hybrid product of Moguls and British who ruled Indian from 13th century till 19th century
One of the most sucess full actor among the youngsters in kollywood and Mr dhaunsh should not follow Superstar Rajini...who acted in hindi films for frienships along with other heroes of hindi films with out showing his role importance in the movie , which his not liked by his fans in the south

Joke of the year. Rajni acted in movies whose producers were south indians. Those were lauchpads for rajni in bollywood and it was amitabh who acted for friendship in those movies as special appearances. Only few movies like sagar, etc were produced by hindi producers but had other hindi heroes as main lead. so baby first get ur facts right before speaking.

Bollywood had a good name to begin with? Really. With criminals among its main stars? Someone in jail counting the bars, for hobnobbing with terrorists that attacked the nation. Another hero preparing to go to jail for killing animals of the endangered species, just to impress actresses. Another case of bollywood heroes driving drunk kil_ling 3 people on the street. Another hero in jail for raping a maid. Another super star banned from stadium for getting drunk and creating pathetic scenes and fighting with law enforcement. Another hero who felt very brave to hit a 73 year old man just to impress the star's girlfriend.
Some name bollywood has earned through the fine actions of its worshiped heroes?

However Rajani is a God and full respect for him. What he has achieved is tremendous.

Do you know why Amitabh Bachchan was rejected by several directors in Mumbai during his initial days? Because he was NOT good looking! Unbelievable as it sounds now.
Yes, one famous director even shouted at the person who had strongly referred this young struggler to him, when he saw Amitabh walk into his office. The director's words were, 'Is oonth ko mein picture mein kaise loon?' (What would I do with a camel like him in my movie?).
Amitabh never forgot that humiliation, and never ever worked with that director, or anywone who worked with that director, after Amitabh made it big.
I am not in the least comparing Amitabh with Dhanush or putting Dhanush in the same league as Amitabh. Certainly not.
What I am stating is that once a person clicks with the audience, perceptions change and a brand is built.
Amitabh has admitted in several interviews that the biggest challenge for him was that he was considered very unlike the reigning stars of the day. Too tall, to baritoned voice, not the conventional good looks that was the trend those days like Shashi kapoor, Rajesh Khanna, or evergreen Dev Anand.
Amitabh recounted how he was staying at his father's friends house in Marine Drive, Mumbai. The two little girls in that house were shocked when Amitabh told him that he wanted to become a hero. 'You and Hero? Ha ha. You dont look like Shashi Kapoor at all!' Amitabh was very disheartened by the kids' honest opinion, and knew that he had a tough road ahead.

Fool...understand the basics first ..an actor is someone who is supposed to enact a character and ACT ...not all the characters that see in real life have macho faces and 6-pack abs.(I am sure you look horrible too). Dhanush is basically an actor who has proved his mettle enacting various characters and this is reason why he is an ACTOR...Read these lines again and again to update your brain (if at all you have it). In this movie 'Raanjhanaa', he plays a simple lower class youth and fits the bill perfectly. You are being exposed only to bollywood where romances happen in Europe or US, mouthing english dialogues and it is quite natural, you wrote somehting that is really rubbish. Grow up!!!

i agree ith u. superb ...pakka nosecut for insane ppl who cares little for acting and do not know the difference btw an actor whose profession is to act well and a model who should look good. let them mature.
I wish his upcoming film Mariyaan to be successful.It is a story of struggles and finding love.Inspired from true stories of Indians struggling in Gulf countries and wanting to get out of there.I hope Bharat Bala makes a masterpiece!! The songs of A.R. Rahman are good especially Sonapareeya,Nenje Ezhu and Netru Aval.

This movie seems to be taking more-than-usual liberties with reality!
No way in a million years can a local girl go about flaunting her "emotions" and "romantic urges" in the streets of Varanasi like Sonam's character does!
In light of the recent events in North India involving horrific crimes against women, the story of this movie appears to be a cruel joke!

If reality is to be depicted bollywood movies would have to depict rapistani culture beginning to end and nothing else in the movie. Why would north india pay to watch that movie when they can watch that in real life on the streets and buses and cars?
So when north indians are bored of watching that on the streets they like to take a break from reality and collected their families and go watch movies.
