Yes \"man of steel\",promises much about super man ,however the entire first half is dedicated to how he was transported to earth, and also why he has super powers . I did find the 3d effects too dark , and also it takes its time setting up the actions and fighting that we all adore so much !!!. Also , most superman purists would disagree that any one knew supermans identity when he went and worked as a journalist , The action sequences are all clustered in the second half , and all that one sees are superman and zod, tearing through buildings and mountains and bridges and.....you get the drift !!! \"Man of steel\" fails to recreate the same empathy and sadness that other movies of the same genre had , such \" Dark knight rises\" , its difficult to connect with Kal-el\'s angst as it seems contrived and forced !! The movie sets up a stage , just to disappoint in the end !!

Seems superman director didn't pay to Rediff to write a good review thats why they gave just 2.5 stars. It's a great movie with awesome action sequence. Watched it in 3D with 7.1 sound system which is not even available in India. It said to see they give 4 stras to movies like Debangg and dont appreciate the western movies which are still 100 years ahead of Indian crappy movies.
"Indian Superman" (1982). Cavill comes close to beating Puneeth Issar' s Superman but his Clark kent is far beneath Issar's nerdy Shekar Khanna! And Russel Crowe is no match for Jor El as portrayed by Dharmendra (Kryptaan Ke Kutte main tera khoon pijayooongaaa..!). Good try but east ya west India is the best
Saw the movie, its very good with fine performances by Russel Crowe, Kevin Costner and Diane Lane. Cavill is also neat as Superman. Michael Shannon however is a total dud as Zod. Problem with the movie is that is nothing new in the movie, the kid sitting in front of me kept asking why is Superman wearing the Spiderman suit, and action scenes are a mix of Avengers and Transformers Dark of the Moon with better Special effects. The quieter moments in the movie are the best especially the childhood flashbacks (Costner has some ver y powerful scenes), Jor El guidance scnenes (Russel Crowe is great fun)and Clark with his mom One time watch. Biggest claps in my hall was for the trailer of Pacific Rim???
