When his is such a great Indian story, it should be known to each and every Indian. Good to know it is being made in English alongside Tamil. If it could be simultaneously dubbed in Hindi as well, then it could really penetrate many more houses. Just a thought.

Everybody...............................Ramanujan
by SUDHIR PARASHER on Aug 01, 2013 04:30 PM

India does not lack the Talent(Ramanujan and now the Director Gnana) we need to change our attitudes towards us, fellow Indians, country,Society then only we will progress. Why we need outsiders to recognise our talents and qualities. Most of us have a tendency to pull down our fellow countrymen and do not like to see them progressing. I think this is a very important factor in retarding the progress of our society and then the country.
We must appreciate Gnana for making movie on Ramanujan's life.

Sir thanks for taking this initiative. I glad that you are making a movie on the great Ramanujan, an internationally reputed Mathematician sadly ignored by his motherland

Typical Brahmin propoganda. Our society has never appreciated any talents and the first to ignore them on the basis of their caste are the brahmins. Now that the tables are turned, they blame everyone else for their own misery.

Abolish caste.

You are correct, India ignored Ramanujam, in USA, every Ivy league university has a Ramanujam club. Indian uneducated politicians purposely are degrading upper caste people and Hindus in general.

TAMIL NADU does not respect Ramanujan
by vijay karthik on Aug 01, 2013 12:38 PM  | Hide replies

Ramanujan being a Tamil is not given proper respect in TN. School children are not taught about his achievements whereas even the lowest of the politicians demands respect through posters and cut outs in every street. C V Raman is another great personality who was born and brought up in TN but the current generation is not aware of his achievements.

It is a cheap publicity and taking credit for a particular community, tell me one scholar who is praised by the media other than politicians and movie industry people.

To my knowledge, except ABJ Abdul Kalam since he was elected as President, no other academic scholar got the media attention. None of the academic achievers are come to the limelight, it is a problem with media and its lack of focus on academic achievers

As a common man, we see what media provide to us, why blame politicians for everything?

After ruled by foreigners, Indians lost confidence on other fellow Indians. Unless a western fellow certifies, we don't respect our talent. This happens even on political front today.. see how our leaders don't trust each other and put a foreigner on the power!!

I would certainly watch this film eventough I dont understand Tamil completely. As mentioned by the director, we dont respect the genius, either we call him a lunatic or arrogant, in India every success is always associated with his education or his success in job, but never appreciate a person for his out of the box thinking. Hope this movie changes the mindset of the Indian parents
