In the article, it is mentioned - "... if you give a good performance but the film works for just seven days, it means people have not seen you (in those days, films had silver and golden jubilees of 50 to 100 days)." Actually, Silver / Golden Jubilee meant un-interrupted run of 25 weeks and 50 weeks respectively.

i think its not so much about blaming youngsters but blaming their attitude. attitude should not change. In Varmajis 20's the actors who were in their 60's or 70's then would be saying similiar things which vermaji said in this article. so this trend of new vs old generation continue and nothing wrong with it but when ur attitude is wrong then its not right. the girl smoking, if was humble enough to put off her cig while talking to him n not snapping her fingers then thats the right attitude n wearing modern clothes is the new generation, he wouldnt have mond the new fashion clothes but the cigarrate n snapping is wrong in any generation.
I am big fan of amol palekar and super star like verma ji...even today i never get bored watching their movies and stick to tv when any movie of these actors are being telecasted on TV...great personalites.
I read the article in toto. So many stories we never knew but after reading the article we came to know many things about this great comedian. Dhiru Mistry
