Jatin Khanna eka Rajesh Khanna did get the Super star tag but looking to his acting in some of the films were just mediocre acting. Yes, in Shakti Samanta's films or Hrishikesh Mukharji's film he was superb because the directors were above normal directors. who told you for becoming superstar in bolywood, acting is required? do not you know salman is superstar today?
For many middle aged today Rajesh Khanna was a cult figure, His fullsleev shirts and Jubbas were craze in those days. Really he set a new pace to acting let it be Annad or Katipatang oor Sachajuta. He identified himself with character:Ranga Charlu
On his death last year, I met some old friends and colleagues who were teenagers during the Rajesh Khanna era, i.e. the early and mid-70s. These men who have crossed their 50s now were so mesmerized by the charm of Rajesh Khanna, that they say that the kind of adulation and hero worship that was done of Rajesh Khanna was unheard of before him and even after him. Even the superstardom achieved by Amitabh is nothing compared to that achieved by RK is what they claim.

ABOSLUTELY CORRECT HE WAS THE REAL SUPERSTAR, SELF MADE NO MEDIA & POLITICAL BACKING, BBC PEOPLE HAS TO WAIT 5 DAYS AT HIS BUNGLOW FOR GETTING AN INTERVIEW FOR THEIR DOCUMENTRY ON RAJESH KHANNA NAMED BOMBAY HERO, HIS BUNLOW ASHIRWAD WAS DECLARED A TOURIST DESTINATION BY GOVT OF INDIA. & PRODUCERS USED TO SAY UPER AAKA NICHE KAKA.NO ONE TO MATCH HIM. RIP KAKA MISS YOU A LOT.
was a real superstar of Indian cinema. Gone were the days of films like Anand, Aradhana, Mere Jeevan Sathi, Safar and Amarprem. Today Bollywood is crowded with Goalmals, Shootouts and Race 1 to 100. The family has forgotten movie going. Only young, jobless and class bunkers see movies!
I am proud to say that, cinema was at peak during Rajesh Khanna films, and feel very sad that we are not getting films like that now, expect here and there from Amir Khan.

It is unacceptable that cinema was at its peak during Rajesh Khanna's times. Technology was so poor in those days. To dramatise a care chase, they used to run the film faster than normal speed. And so were the fights exaggerated. The current phase of films in India must rank as the best ever, except for the music which perhaps was better during the 50s, the 60s and the first half of the 70s.

Friends whats missing is the simple family movies which Hrishikesh M or Basu Chatterjee or Gulzar used to make. We do need movies which people can relate to and enjoy as a family.....
