Pran was one of the longest serving actor in India cinema. He managed to be in demand always and had to bow out only due to ill health at an old age which was unavoidable. It is difficult to say what made him tick so long and interestingly for around ten years during the 70's he was the second highest paid actor after rajesh khanna, despite being a villan or character actor. Beyond doubt, he had tremendous staying power.

very right sir. Reading some more anecdotes in the form of personal experiences of some filmmakers and actors, I think his staying power lied in his unconditional love and deep regards towards his work. It's sheer passion towards work that drove him.
