Biro ( Sonal Kapoor) Changed his life
by Batao Na on Jul 22, 2013 02:03 PM

Reviewer thinks character of Sonal Kapoor ( Biro) has no impact on Milkha's life but she is the reason why he left the life of a petty thief and join army as a jawan and became athlete in due course.
Character of Parizad is not a love interest of Milkha and is just another character and who played the role is inconsequential .

This is story of Milkha Singh and partition violence has to be the way he faced in his childhood and shaped him later in his life.
There can not be any other way. It is good that Farhan Akhtar and Rakehh did not gloss over it to suit secular narrative of 2013

Nirmal Kaur played by Sonam Kapoor
by ks on Jul 22, 2013 02:32 AM

I don't know, if the author wrote the review half drunk or whether he saw some another movie, comparing Milkha's life with Gandhi--atleast have some sense, compare the movie with some sports biography (u won't find any in India)- compare it with Invincibles, etc.

And , Sonam Kapoor is Biro, not Nirmal Kaur who is the actual wife of Milkha Singh. Think before you write....

70s movie
by gladiator show on Jul 17, 2013 06:52 PM  | Hide replies

This reminds me of 70s movie. Someguys whacks his leg and this man goes on the create a national record.

One australian gal is so ynroh that takes him to bar and goes on to peels with him.

The next day on the balcony in fromt of her grand father she ways to him

The story is boasted by a sardar to an toidi writer called sone Joshi who believed in every word he says.

He was not such a legend as he pretends to be

And BTW he was such a profiessional athelete that during olympic running as his coach screms "Bhaag MIkha Bhaag", it reminds him of his parents tragedy and thats why he looses the gold medal. If I remember correctly this is not what Mokha had told some years back to an interviewer. At that time he had mentioned that he lost as he was running very fast and he thought to himself that probably he was going a lot fast and will exhaust himsefl and he slowed down.

Bakwas movie made to ego boost punjabiat (whatever that means). This is going to be loved by nothies.

And one more this there is a scene in the movie wherein some punjabi guys are threatened that they would be killed if they dont leave village or convert. And some sardarji's argument are that they will stay and fight. One of the Mikha's uncle who says we should leave is shown to be a coward. What an great scene.

get your head checked this film ends somewhere in 1956 , Milkha Singh lost in 1960 Rome Olympic by 0.1 sec.

Getting layed with unknown people in west was not big in 60s it was age of flower generation and AIDS was not a concern.

A brilliant movie.
by subramanian on Jul 17, 2013 04:30 PM

BMB is a brilliant movie and i am not able to understand the critic's criteria for being a good movie. And it was utterly rubbish to say that Sonam Kapoor symbolises Milkha Singh's wife Nirmal Kaur. If i am true to my knowledge to my knowledge, she was the former captain of Indian volleyball team. Sonam Kapoor symbolises Singh's love interest which he he had during his teenages years. Singh himself admitted it in an interview. Please update yourself with facts before writing a review,or please do not attempt something like this.

PT Usha
by abc_xyz abc_xyz on Jul 16, 2013 11:14 AM

Mnay aruge that PT Usha is greater than Milkha. Yes, she is undoubteldy the greatest female athelete India produced, but will always remain as the 2nd greatest indian athelete after Milkha Singh. Many argue that she missed bronze by 0.01 sec, while Milkha missed it by 0.1 sec..but the fact is, she ran the race in the depleted competition of 1984 games boycotted by many countries, whereas Milkha ran the toughest race till then in 1960 rome olympics ( where 4 out of 6, including him, broke the olympic record)
