Studio green Gnanavel raja was a producer and distributor of this movie.He is a cousin of surya and karthi and so far all the karthi movies are either produced or distributed by studio green..even they have distributed and few surya movies like Jillunu oru kaadhal,singam and currently singam 2. Only outside family movie so far is kumki which they have distributed..Studio green was supposed to buy distribution rights for Kamalhaasan Vishwaroopam in tamilnadu but kamalhaasan did not agree with the quoted price..Its a business and if kamal doesnt agree to the quoted price then studio green should have moved on but they planned to defeat kamal by releasing Alex pandian by pongal by blocking more screens with the help of TN theater onwers association and theater owners who were against kamal for DTH release..even studio green blocked as many screens so that samar cant get few screens..finally see what happened..utter flop for karthi-studio green banner and theater owners pledged kamalhaasan for resting the case of 'abuse of dominance' filed in CCI,also they have assured kamalhaasan that Vishwaroopam will be released widely in more than 500 screens in TN...samar also a decent hit...Verdict: Look at your own business on how to improve instead of looking at others business and trying to block that

wow...seriously you have given the exact view of what is happening...i agree to every bit of ur words...had they not blocked, atleast everyone would have seen vishwaroopam...sad..now they have fired themselves at the back.

I had this suspicion ever since the movie ad was showing Jan 11 in block letters the date Kamal had earlier announced of the release of his film. Nice to see what they got.

What you had said may be true also but this type of an attitude was very well shown during the release of Endiran also, isn't (in a megascale!)? Endiran to me is not that fantastic film. I like Rajini in films like "Thambikku endha Uru"

Karthi will not be able to pull audience to theatres..as he is not superstar...Two of the films for him got flopped and AP is total disaster despite its 360 degree promotions in all type of media...He thought media will save his movie but now they will feel realistic situation of the industry..only superstars who have mass fan base can only sustain here...builup will not help...

None of his movies are hit even in AP..he just hyped it...same the case for Suriya as well..Ghajini fared avg because of ZERO publicity but gave Suriya recognition..but rest of his movies failed at box office except 7th Sense (ezham arivu)which got good openings but later fizzled out..both teh brothers create hype as if they are having good following in both teh film industries while they do not have...
