is Aseem hitting you at the wrong place? Are you from Bollywood's particular group that you are defending Women-objectifying songs. One cant stoop so low to make money. This is an eyeopener.
All these lead actresses know pretty well what they are doing. Should we blame them also? Or should we go back to the age old question "does bollywood reflect on what happens in real world or vice versa?"

some bollywood movies that are theme based may be bringing out a reflection of what is happening in the world but largely they are work of fiction, I suspect some movies are even sponsered by the group of criminals who want to promote their way of thinking via movies.
I have heard somehwere that if you put a frog in boiling hot water, it will quickly jump out, but if you continue to warm the water slowly the frog will not try to come out and just die. Why? Because he does not notice the change. If you start showing porn in movie theaters, people will react sharply, but Portrait of women as commodity and an item for pleasure for men in movies and other places has over a period of time gone from bad to worse and has gone to this extent that it has taken the shape of soft porn some people don't find any problem with it and try to defend it in the name of freedom of expression. I won't say this is the primary reason folks are committing crimes against women ( primary one is lack of deterrant against crimes) But it does have an apparent influence on outlook of impressionable people that go and watch these movies and come out of movie theaters considering women an object of enjoyment. I believe some improvement in general outlook of people towards women will definitely take place if movies makers start behaving more responsibly and take on social responsibility as part of their job, and not just making money at whatever cost.

yes, you are a logical thinker...very true; the minds have been poisoned slowly and the detoxification also needs to be done slowly....this will work.
& this is our responsibility towards our children and nation in future.
To clean up the society and to avoid the mindset needs collective effort from all sections of society. We all accept that Bollywood has been a very powerful force to influence indian Society.
There are scores of movies with very good messages. Be it Munnabhai, Lagan, 3 idiots ...
This also means that the item songs / scoldings / etc. also being absorbed by the mass.
In my opinion, as a responsible society, we need to have restrain in what we are portraying.
bollywood is DEVIL's Workshop.......bollywood is gateway to import western culture in to indian society.....if these bollywood heroines really sympathise with delhi gang rape victim they should quit doing roles in films that degrade women's character.....
