I thought it was a movie and NOT a docudrama or documentary as Kalyan indicated. Did the movie want to make a political statement ? NO. Did the movie really wanted to show American Espionage by what you called 'innocent' people ? NO. Did the movie claim that it's truly authentic accounts of what happened there in Iran ? NO. Even Jimmy carter said in a interview (who was then the president) (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=xVV2c7k36n0) that the movie inaccurately portrays the picture. So what ? It's a movie based on some actual events and the director/screenplay writer took poetic license in their creative process. The film is NOT of any historical facts and doesn't want to create one. So I would say that , please leave it at that , a well made movie. Do you really care what exactly Lincoln said when he said something 1850-1860 and what was shown in the movie Lincoln ? Did the director/screen writer paraphrase ? I don't think so. It's called creative license.
This is a movie made to entertain people from the American point of view of a tense situation in Iran. Why would you expect it or want it to be anything different, and if you(Chabra) were the producer of the movie and your hard earned life's savings were funding it, could you explain what would you have done different?
agree with Chabra..Have seen the film.. no doubt it is a well made one but then it was too focused on entertaining & thrilling the audience rather than giving accounts of a true event with authentic precision...
Forget the movie, whatever I have seen on TV and the Iraniann president's speeches and the treatment meted out to its own people who wanted more freedom, Iran is probably worse than what's shown in the movie. We all know, it is the next worst state after Afghanistan under Taliban regime
I am inclined to agree with Aseem as what we are seeing in Argo is purely an American perspective They could have at least made an attempt to impartialise the movie for a world audience??!

Don't worry, the prolific duo of Abbas Mustan are going to shoulder that responsibility with an Indian attempt - Hago.
