To be frank ...though being a an ardent fan of Kamalhasan... caught the movie in Bangalore...least I can say is the movie is disappointing....it needs all this controversy to rake in the moolah...otherwise Viswaroopam is an average movie which people may flock to see for Kamals sake or for the contoversy its been through...but if you replace him with any other actor in a picture like Viswaroopam its bound to be a flop
Kamlu is hands-in-gloves with the mullahs.. This is a B-grade masala movie so this controversy will add spices and more people will flock to watch this movie.. Kamlu will laugh all the way to the bank..
The reality is, Amma had asked Kamal to sell the movie to her tv network. Kamal had refused to sell it, as it was not profitable enough, for the budget and effort. So, Amma instigated some muslim outfits in Tamil Nadu to oppose the movie, and in the pretext of ensuing communal violence, banned it. After a week now, she thinks she has done enough damage to Haasan's coffers, that she is removing the ban, with some cosmetic cuts. I saw the movie in Denver, and there is nothing offensive. But Amma's antics have given enough publicity to the movie. Though the movie is aweful, I hope it does well in the box office, if it is not a secret publicity stunt by Amma-Kamal nexus.
Why not completely rename all actors in films irrespective of their religion, in serial numbers 1 to 100, and mention of religions as religion A - Z. All religious symbols and prayers in the films be covered .
Better still completely ignore the so called minority in any film whatsoever. No mention. No talk. ignore their presence in the society to see how they fare
TN friends, mainly Chennai film goers have to wait another 4 days with out any logic for this delay. It is now clear how KH is under compulsion to reach an accord for release of his much hyped film.
