simple and natural and genuine atleast at nite that too on midnite mass .if she was truly focussed on wot she came to do she wuldnt look so camera conscious.
Why are INdians so ashamed of their heritage? Why do we feel superior by speaking in English? WHy do we ape what Westerners do?
I find Westerners more humble & non-assuming than INdians. They respect everyone irrespective of class. They have dignity-of-labor which we absolutely lack in. They like people who are bi-lingual. They will like you more if you speak your mother tongue & follow your culture & project yourself as having pride in your heritage.
All this is from my personal experience having lived in US for a long time.

It is your guilt that makes you think this way. We who live in India are not ashamed of our heritage, culture and language. You have had to lead a double life in the US and you assume that all Indians think the same way.

Lax, what you are describing can be partly attributed to what is called the neophyte syndrome!
In this syndrome, new converts suffer from an overwhelming urge to prove their allegiance to their new faith or belief system!
You can see the manifestation of this syndrome in the new converts in India who go overboard with the rituals and traditions of their new faith and are excessively and irrationally vocal about the defense of their new faith.
The other reason for the behavior of Indians you have described can be attributed to an innate inferiority complex which manifests as snobbery and the sense of shame Indians feel for both abandoning their culture and being ashamed of the over-the-top uncivilized behavior of their fellow Indians!
None of the above applies to the celebrities featured in this article's photos as they are just doing this because they are confused about their own faith!
Case in point, Kareena's mummy Babita who was raised in a hard-core pappad consuming Sindhi family and got married into a family of Punjabi debaucherers!
When and where she found Hay_Souse considering her family history is a real mystery!

West does not relate religion to culture, in the west they only care about your religion when your religion becomes a problem to society as a whole.
