Posh is Subbarami reddy's house in Banjara hills, Mohanlal's sea facing house in kochi or Jayalalitha's house in Chennai. These bollywood stars stay in USSR style apartments.
meaning of posh needs to be redefined, if these apartments are to be called posh. Go and see the bungalows of tollywood actors in Hyderabad posh Banjara Hills to know how a posh house looks like. Anyway, Mumbai has space constraints, so you cannot expect huge bungalows.
I never imagined the quality of of life so poor. the all aprtment looks like dumpers!! I am from Bangalore (not really but somwhere around blre and stayed there for many years). I know the whole india is dirt but this is too much!! most of the comments are are valid. here

Your comments are the most realistic ... ! This must be the real reason !
I was studying Computer PG diploma for 6 months in training college near Kaifi Azmi park ( a park constructed using Shabana Azmi's MP fund near Juhu Vile Parle Development Scheme / JVPD Bus station ) . Jalsa is just next to Kaifi azmi park .. and all these people used to live in near by lanes ... To tell you what , jalsa is so small that once my new room mate from Bihar commented that it looks so smaller than my own house back in my home town when I took him to show that bunglow ... All these buildings looks so dirty , especially Katrina kaif's building which looks like a Slum Development Building ( MHADA ) Even in 7 bunglow's MHADA colony where there are so many offices of these actors like Anil kapoor , UTV , Roshan Taneja's acting school are so small that you wont believe.. These are all MHADA's homes .. very very small like Rat-Holes .. Mumbai is so dirty and anywhere you go that dirty smell you have to inhale .. I don't know how people live in that dirtiest city , breathe that ugly smell , travll in so crowded trains like Sheeps ...

What a graphic and superb description of the state of housing in Mumbai!
Good job, Ashes!
I lived in Mumbai briefly and was shocked to see how people of all backgrounds literally die to buy or rent these pigeon holes!
Landlords barely make any repairs to their properties but demand exorbitant rent for dilapidated tenements and Horrible old 1BHK flats sell for Crores of Rupees!
It makes you wonder if there is something in the air or water of Mumbai that drives otherwise perfectly sane individuals completely crazy when it comes finding decent, habitable accommodation in Mumbai!

You must be kidding about Jalsa....
I think you are being sarcastic that Jalsa is so small....perhaps of the actors who live near to jalsa have small bunglaws ( perhaps that is )
and btw i have seen the houses that people in Bihar and other parts of India stay.....their homes may be somewhat bigger but they usually open to miniature size lanes with open sewage passing
