Lack of unity among hindus is why hindus are being treated like dirt everywhere.

If the hindus were well-united and organised and free of social evils like casteism and untouchability and sectarianism , not even partition, but the foreign invasions by the mughals and britishers could have been prevented, and India would have been a very prosperous and developed country by now , instead of wallowing in the indignity of poverty and illiteracy and lack of development.

The true story
by desi twist on Aug 23, 2013 02:17 PM

Whether India chooses to interfere in Lanka is a secondary issue, the primary issue is that many Indians talk without knowing true history.
The Tamil struggle was initially a peaceful one, protesting against Tamils being treated as second class citizens. A political solution seemed possible, but the then arrogant SL Govt turned it down and continued to marginalize Tamils. Over time this gave rise to the LTTE.
In my opinion, since India goes around the world advising restraint (including in their own borders), they should have forced both parties to get to the negotiating table and brokered a peaceful solution, instead of sending IPKF.

Plight of Tamilians in India
by Sundaravadivelu on Aug 23, 2013 01:45 PM  | Hide replies

There will be no unity and support for tamilians in this world. One of the ancient race and language never gets respect. Indian People want to blame tamilians only, in return nobody utters about the atrocities committed by Sinhala race over the tamilians. Only some foreigners have to project the atrocities of Rajapakse and India will readily give a red carpet welcome. This is the plight of tamilians and each Indian has to learn from the Jewish community.

Yes, this is true not only for Tamilians but also all Non northies. Norties have taken over India and want to enforce their language ie. hindi and their culture ie, bollywood. Its time all non northies unite together.

Tamilians are one of the ancient races and they have remained ancient in their thinking as well. Tamilians' reluctance to accept change has been the root cause of the problems they face today.

Its justifiying atrocities performed against Tamils by Army, both Indian and Srilankan. Not an acceptable movie. The problem among most of the Indians is that unless or otherwise it hits the belt of that individual, the truth are not spoken and exposed.

Did you even see the film? Its about politics all sides play and nowhere did it justify killing of civilians. John's character keeps having nightmares seeing the violence and strife and very early in the film he poignantly states that it is always innocent civilians who pay with blood in such warzones. In Afgha, Iraq, Pak or any violent are tell me civilians are not dying? Its a fact of life and MC portrays that beautifully. It sends the message that violence is not the answer and blood demands price everywhere. What are you talking about!

John's character keeps having nightmares seeing the violence and strife and very early in the film he poignantly states that it is always innocent civilians who pay with blood in such warzones. The film gives stats of the number of civilians killed in the strife and the reporter Fakhri empathizes with the plight of the people caught in crossfire. In Afghan, Iraq, Pak or any violent area or theater of civil strife, tell me civilians are not dying? Its a fact of life and MC portrays that beautifully. so many nitwits no real issue
by VijaySagar on Aug 23, 2013 12:21 PM  | Hide replies

Madras Cafe is supposedly a very well made movie. I think the audience should leave biases aside and watch it if they wish to. Those who have their opinions should keep it to themselves. If they were so concerned they should get into politics or ensure that they dont vote for anti national parties like Congress and BJP, who have come together today to ensure that criminals are allowed to rule this nation and the judiciaries powers be curbed lest they prevent these politicians from rap ing the nation. I think those who have issues against this movie shud shut their traps and not decide who can who cannot watch a movie. Freedom to do what we want, what we watch and how we do are already being dictated to us by muslime, the SC/ST vote banks, the right wing hindu fanatics etc. We dont want another loose bunch of bi gots to push this freedom further away.
