It's BS that she insisted that she didn't want her character to speak in the stereotypical way Indian characters do in American movies. The director probably needed Indian Accent and hired her. Otherwise, they would have hired a local american.

You guys have the ability to speak only 1 single language but we Indians are so adaptable that we can manage a As* like you, understand you better and show you the right direct...
