I am still wondering what does he mean to convey? Or does he actually wants to convey something? Please from the next time, provide a brief summary of your review in an easy to comprehend language.

@KRish bhatt Not knowing English doesn't make one an idiot. Those who think that speaking in a particular language makes you an intellectual are highly mistaken.

Actually it does. Nowhere in India any higher education or good education provided in any other language than english. And even after undergoing years of education in english, you are not able to understand the language, you are an idiot.

The best speakers of a language are often those who keep it simple, rather than those who make it difficult to comprehend the meaning. Any good writer worth its salt would use the words which are easy to comprehend, but this would be difficult for someone like you to understand...

@Ramen das Any good writer would know his target readers. Writing a movie article is not like writing a literature. People who come on these sites to read such articles arent exactly expecting to read a great literature, but a review of a movie written in a language which can be understood without using goodle...

Is that a question or a statement?? If its a question, then your language skills are questionable.

@Kris Bhatt - Dude, All I meant to say that this review was meant for average Hindi movie goers, who want to know views of Rediff's reviewers on this. Am I wrong in asking him to put it in an easy to understand language for them??
And so far as I am concerned, I definitely lack linguistic excellence in English. And that's why I am a best selling Indian fiction author.
But I am not on this forum to show off my coolness or my level. It's you who is doing it.

Who is to decide who is an average cine goer and who is not? A lot of times i don't understand a lot of words in Raja's review and i google them
Yes, you are right in your way, but my friend, don't you think there's just too much negativity around. Nothing against you or personal, you just represented all negativity that hover around here. A movie review is a piece of art and not science and can be perceived in zillion ways. All the best with your writing and sorry again to take it against you.
Re: Re: Re: Re: Re: Can someone write an easy to understand summa
by Kunal Bhardwaj on Apr 19, 2013 05:40 PM
@Kris - You are mistaken. It's not at all about spreading negativity. A review is written not for the person himself, it's written for public to provide an unbiased view of the writer on the movie. If the public finds it difficult to understand (difficult to understand IS NOT EQUAL TO can't understand), then what is the use of such review? A writer especially for reviews, writes for public, not for themselves. A review is an opinion of a person written for public, it's NOT A PIECE OF ART.
I am just trying to make this great reviewer understand a simple fact - WHATS THE USE OF A REVIEW WRITTEN FOR PEOPLE WHEN ONLY 5% CAN UNDERSTAND IT EFFORTLESSLY?
'while sounding like a great backstory for an over-committed barber with highly fetishised ponytail-hatred'??? In which country does this sentence make sense??

Do you always complain when you don't understand something? Or this is Raja Sen specific? Do you read newspapers? Do you watch TV? Do you always understand everything?
Re: Re: What??
by Siddhu ism on Apr 19, 2013 12:13 PM
Well, agreed that not all one read is fully understood. However it is not wrong to point out what you have not understood, rather than being ignorant about it. This is the difference between him and you
Re: Re: Re: What??
by kris bhatt on Apr 19, 2013 12:24 PM
My question Sidhu sir is, do we complain when we don't understand something in newspaper or TV? We don't. So why here? And how does it matter someone is different than me or I am different than someone?
Re: Re: Re: Re: What??
by kris bhatt on Apr 19, 2013 12:26 PM
I am sure you will agree Sidhu sir, this is not a classroom and no one is sitting here to tell you that fetishised past participle, past tense of fet·ish·ize. Google it if you don't know, who's stopping you?

This is a movie review. This is not a govt rozgar yojana...a writer can't take responsibility of every reader

good sir, If I know as much as you know I would have rather helped someone like Sandeep to clarify what is the meaning of it
Re: Re: Re: Re: What??
by Siddhu ism on Apr 19, 2013 12:40 PM
Dear sir, The difference between newspaper and the forum here is that this is interactive. Well as per the newspapers the readers may not have the patience to write back to the editor through a snail mail

To kris, I understand what fetish means,i just didnt understand the way the sentence was structured.I normally enjoy raja sen's reviews but sometimes he tries to show off too much. People come here to find out if a movie is good or not, thats it. The sentence in question was unnecessarily made overly complicated by the writer just to show how good his english is.Go to any MNC or hospital and show this sentence to the staff or doctors there and i will guarantee you at least 9 out of 10 wont understand itThen what is the point of writing such things on such a widely read site.Of course he has every right to, but seems senseless to me.Thats all.And yes, if i dont understand something on Tv , i ask the person next to me what it means. And i still haven't understood what he meant to convey by the sentence.

All newspapers and TV channels are online these days. Anyone with a wish can go and raise their doubts...
My question still remains, why people don't do that the way they do it here. We know, there are some people we love to hate. This reviewer is one of them i guess.
Was expecting a good film as it is written by Vishal Bhardwaj...The promos looked different & gave an impression of a psychological horror film.. Lookinf fwd to watch it.. Emraan Hashmi is doing good job nowadays :)
