"a children’s film populated with grown-up scares" - what does it even mean, or do you write just because you can!

It means Children Film Society of India welcomes you to the magical world of children's cinema.

Google 'children film society of India' and you will not be disappointed. :-). After all their motto is promoting every child's right to entertainment, like you

No offence to any one, but the best speakers of a language are often those who keep it simple, rather than those who make it difficult to comprehend the meaning!!!

there cannot be one way of writing... some ppl are known for minimalist writing... some are known more for their vocabulary... no point of complaining here... read TOI review...

It's not only about vocabulary. what you can say if there are more commas then full stops. one sentence run for 3-4 lines. obviously it is not good writing skill. On the top of it this is film review not some literary piece of work.

quality film "literature" also exists... i am not saying this one of them but with this hostility and constant demands for dumbing down, India may never see real cinema literature...

That could be a point of debate in a university with some speakers for and some against the motions.

You could have used 'understand' instead of 'comprehend' to make it simple.

The Witches of Eastwick
by Nagesh Bhagwat on Apr 19, 2013 12:06 PM

My first guess was this was a remake of the 1987 movie - The Witches of Eastwick. If they had attempted to remake that, even with some fine actors of Bollywood, it would be an insult to Cinema. Jack Nicholson, Susan Sarandon, Cher and Michelle Pfieffer played those roles and the first 3 have won Oscars.

If this is original, then Raja may be right
