Iam a software engineer worked at Oracle Corporation, Bangalore But now working in a top bank in Dubai in the IT department. You do have Oracle technologies in banks...we are not talking about cheap banks here in india. 3idiots dialouge is for dummies who dont know the reality of top banks.

@syedatjannat: Reality of Top Banks ??? I don't think you know much.Be careful ,you might get a pink slip any day. Lets see what the Guardian says 'Lehman Brothers went bankrupt. Merrill Lynch, AIG, Freddie Mac, Fannie Mae, HBOS, Royal Bank of Scotland, Bradford & Bingley, Fortis, Hypo and Alliance & Leicester all came within a whisker of doing so and had to be rescued. Western leaders, who for years boasted about the self-evident benefits of light-touch regulation, had to sink trillions of dollars to prevent the world bank system collapsing' Include Bank of America & Citibank to the list. The cheap banks in India seems to be doing much better.....they are serving the rural folk & also making profits at the same time.

You must be working for bank in IT dept. He talking about those who change their area of interest. Even if it is top of the top bank or co-op bank all them have same style of working, they use either Oracle,SAP or IBM software.

Practical reality of life catches up with them. They realize that society runs by money. hence they go to big banks.
I know scientists here at barclays who earlier worked at CERN and now work at bank as Quantitative analysts writing trading models to speculate!!
unfortunate reality:- Money rules human behaviour and society.

Bhaisahab, its only money that counts...doesnt matter what a person study - if he gets more money doing something unrelated, he will opt for that.
anyways - how much your history - geography helping you ? !! ?
I have seen people abroad studying because of their interest in particular subject and from the word go they know they are not going to work in that field. Its the interest that they pursue. Indians being more job centric continue to avoid and even scorn such choices and term it as waste of time.
Another mentality of Indians is visible from our cricketers - they never rest, they never retire unless thrown out - because, they want to earn as much as possible. compare that with Australians and British, they will retire, take rest and enjoy their life.
So may be indian cricketers make more money, quality of life is much better of the others, not to say there are no exceptions to this rule.
