funny that most of the serials mentioned are old serials on doordarshan.....just goes to show the lack of creativitiy and talent on television these days...in those days looks did not matter and genuine talent prevailed....nowadays everyone has six packs and no talent..
There was a brilliant political satire called "kakkaji kahein" which was not easy to understand at the time, due to it's style of delivering the dialogues with hidden meanings....
Doordarshan had a mixed and very interesting bag, cannot forget even the stories of "Katha Sagar", "Ek Kahani", "Honi Anhoni" and also the excellent news readers such as Ramu Damodaran, Rini Simon, Neetu Singh, Usha Albuquerque, Kaveri Mukherjea and company..

U have listed classic serials. Kakkaji Kahin was an excellent soap. Katha Sagar and Darpan were collection of classic stories enacted by great actors. We miss those quality now.

Nukkad is available on youtube, all episodes if I am not mistaken.
Also CID and many episodes of Byomkesh Bakshi for those who are interested in detective serials are available on youtube.

That was innocent India, who had not seen malls multiplexes and evening with friends of mohalla was must! The scent is lost now. By these serial we just try to get chance to rediscover those days, which looks tough in present time now.

Very well said sir, these serials were classics and no comparison to these generation 3rd rated never ending serials, add to that not much ad breaks. Life for the new generation would be never like the ppl of mid 80s and early 90s.
