Lolz.. rowdy rathore was one of the silliest movie I had seen since a long time. It would be a crime to compare rowdy to barfi.
Well what a masterpiece.....and what brilliant acting by Ranbir....one of india's finest young talent...he once again rocked after Rockstar!!!! with not a single line and word for ranbir in the whole film ranbir has spoken a lot with his face....the same is with Priyanka...she is superb as well....and kudos to Anurag basu for such a masterpiece!!!!!Bollywood still has some wonderful talent in form of ranbir and anurag...songs are brilliant...cinematography is awsome....and not to forget that Ileana Dcrooz has also done a Good work....Go and Watch this masterpiece....my rating is 4.5...Its a bit lengthy in second half otherwise it deserved 5 Star.....
Stand up guys and congratulate Anurag for creating this beautiful movie. Agreed, those who like Ek Tha Tiger would never be able to fathom this clever movie. Its bit slow in the begining but gradullay hits you right in the heart. And its a rare achievement for a bollywood movie. Camera is excellent, the tricks it plays with the audiance is marvelous. You really got to be attentive to realize it. Reminds me of great Chaplin at times. Wonderfully woven sequences. Movie is an exceptional blend of Chaplin and bollywood romance. Songs are melodious. Feels sad that he has not used songs in full but just whenever required. That disappoints audiance. Some of the best tracks are not complete. Otherwise, a talior made role for RB Kapoor. His grandfather must be a happy man in heaven to see his linage doing something which would match his talent. New gal is so matured for her first movie. PC is average. I guess she doesnt look any better in real life than 'zilmil'. Anyways a decent attempt. Congrats ANurag one more time...

Are you sure? Everyone I know who watched this movie, absolutely loved it. I watched it and it has become my all time favorite. There was a reason that this movie had very limited single screen release. People having taste for Ek tha tiger, Rowdy rathore and housefull will definately not like it.
Very good review. The list of flaws is much bigger than what you have mentioned. Just the intention of making this kind of a film doesn't make it a good film. It's actually quite a silly film. Ranbir is mind blowing. And the film sustains only because of him. But you have to be a die-hard fan to see him making faces at the camera for two and half hours.

I generally refrain from commenting and replying to comments, but you would be emotionally poorer if you dont watch this movie. It is a masterpiece, 2 actors hold the movie audience all through the 2.5 odd hours and tug at your heart. PLease watch it, you will grow spritually.
B-Brilliant, A- Alluring, R- Radiant, F - First Rate, I - Inimitable.
Indian Cinema is passing through a phase where big production houses are churning out trash in the name of entertainment and laugh their way to the bank within days of the film's release. Every other movie is a blockbuster grossing 100 crores and above at the Box Office. As a result , I have wondered very often if meaningful cinema would ever find its true place in the contemporary Hindi Film Industry.
Well, after watching Barfi, I have to admit that all is not lost . There are still filmmakers like Anurag Basu , who can capivate the audience with an endearing tale of a deaf mute boy, Barfi whose antics will definitely linger in your mind for a long time after you walk out of the theatre. The story is told through the eyes of Shruti, his first love who is forced to reject him because of societal norms. This paves the way for a poignant relationship between Barfi and the autistic Jhilmil , who is spurned by her parents for being differently abled. Their journey of friendship blossoming into unconditional love for one another is yet another highlight of the film.
Its not an unknown fact that Ranbir Kapoor is a force to reckon with. His flawless portrayal of Barfi deserves a standing ovation. He doesnt have dialogues, except an occasional "Barfi" , and yet he is bound to leave you spell bound. Priyanka Chopra as Jhilmil is absolutely brilliant and endearing . I would rate it as her career best

Mr Adhithya
People like you cannot appreciate movies like Barfi. You would instead rave about lousy movies like Ek Tha Tiger just because it has a so called "mass hero" who has never been considered in the league of good actors. And dont speak on behalf of others by saying no one has liked it....Have you watched the movie ? You might never watch it at all beacause it is a movie sans punch dialogues, sans abusive language , sans fights etc etc. A movie about a deaf mute character cant't exactly be boring but a movie about a so called superhero can push you to the end of your tether. So think before you speak . And my dear friend , if you are not happy with a review , you can voice your opininon on this forum in a constructive manner. You have no right to make someone feel offended by using crass words or unparliamentary language.
