why only hrishikesh mukherjee and Basu chatterjee...where is shakti samnta? pramod chakraborty, Bimal Roy? Rediff people are so shallow in their research

It seems you haven't read the article properly. These greats were mentioned in the opening page. This article features the new lot of bong film makers. Read it again.

Ha ha...good one!! Watched Shanghai couple of days back - amazing stuff Dibakar Banerjee has created. So was Kahaani by Sujoy Ghosh. But guess Dibakar beats the pack hands down. Hope the top guys like Vishal Bharadwaj, Dibakar Banerjee, Anurag Basu, Hirani etc maintains their creativity for a long time to come. I stay in Singapore and 3 idiots - with all its Indian sensibilities - has been a hit here among the other races. One of the reason may be that SG education system is as much as of a pressure cooker as it is in India. But more importantly the movie was good enough to be appreciated by people only on the basis of the visuals and sub-titles. Hindi movies have come a long way from the mindless art that it used to be in the 80s and the 90s.
