Apart from his films success, without paid media and PR, he single handedly made big successes out of sheer persona films like Lawaris, M-K-S even, Namakhalal etc.. even after shunning media and Media blocking his news in 70s and Emergency.
Can any socalled superstar of today make a hit without media ? They just create some controversys before film release to get people to theatres.

You dont understand acting, Dilip was good but Amitabh was good as well, but unfortunately it was Rakhi who was the best and did not get the acclamation she deserved... and yes Smita with all her talent had nothing to do,

In front of stalwart like Dilipji, anyone can look extra. Anyways, Amit was good in the movie.

An extra doesn't get nominated as a BEST ACTOR in the awards, at a time when media had boycotted him.

look at the time they were released (same year as many other block busters of his). may be due to that the were average collections. elase Ab would have more block buster than he had
Not many of us know that Faaran when re-shown after a gap of few years from date of release, the film ran packed in a tamil nadu theatre for 100 days run. While in Roti kapada , people saw for the scene when he rides the bike( one hand only), people were seen clapping. Majboor was another film that impressed me. Sometime, I feel was he a common man hero? In Reshma, his cameo is still the best till today. We do not have such dialogue now at all,

I agree. These may be top films only. They should not have included roti kapada aur makan as he had a very small role virtually guest appearance. Roti kapda aur makan was never his movie.

Same way---reshma aur shera was out and out sunil dutt film. it can not be amitabh's greatest film. The movie was just excellent but it was sunil dutt's movie.
