Promotion is a way to keep in touch with public for movie. It is not necessay that everyone is watching promo on television, so some family programme, reallity show help them to reach the odience.
And promotion can be done in any way, it is upto public how to react on them.
If the theme of the movie is superior then definetly every one like to watch the film.
And Aamir Khan really does excellent performance in his last 15-20 films.
If you check record of last 15-20 films of all actors then you find that Aamir Khans all movie since Lagaan does excellent business and liked by all people. Most of them became Biggest Blockbuster of Bollywood. Since Lagaan all films are either HIT, SUPERHIT, BLOCKBUSTER, RECORD TOD MOVIE (only Mangal Pandey does above average)
TALAASH IS MUCH AWAITED MOVIE AND IT IS WORTH TO WACTH.
AFTER LONG TIME ONE CLASSIC / CLASS MOVIE RELEASES IN 2012.
MAY BE AAMIR WILL BE BEST ACTOR IN 2012 FOR TALAASH
Now every actor taking cheap way to promote his movie with that kind of act. I think the serial which was still runing last 12 years are more interesting then Aamir Khan,s movie.

People watch CID.... That's why its running for 14 years or more. And when people watch it, it becomes a good platform to promote your film. And more so, when your film is a crime thriller on the lines of "CID" itself.

your say is true if the people are not watching the series cid will not bve telecasted but it has more fans than many movies or new releases so there is nothing wrong for amir khan to promote this film with CID
