sangoli rayanna is what we call "Aadya Krantiveer"(first freedom fighter) of Indian Freedom struggle. But since only brahmins had right of education and eventually they're the ones who wrote history, sangoli rayanna didn't get that credit; instead vasudev balwant phadke got the credit as he was brahmin.
I would like to thank the financers of the movie for making such quality movie in kannada. It is high time people realised that sangolli rayanna and kittur rani chanamma raised the banner of revolt against britishers much before mangal pandey in the so called first war of independence.

N.Indians always remember only Jhansi rani, Bhagat singh, Chandrashekar ajad etc, but they never think about the contributions of freedom fighters from south indians like Kittur chennamma, Rayanna, Seetharamaraju & Veera pandya katta bomman etc.
