Well, there's no reason for Indians or fans of Kamlu hassan or James Bond Kanth to go crazy.. Ang Lee is one of the best directors from Hollywood and just like other Hollywood Big names its pretty sure that he would have never seen a Tamil movie in his life, leave alone Kamal or Rajni's movies.. and he doesn't even care to watch them. he's just being polite to the host, that's all..

DR Rajkumar is the greatest INDIAN actor of all times.. Every actor which u all hav said has bow down to DR RAJKUMAR including KAMAL HASAN and AMITABH BACCHAN.. There's no enemity my friends but its just the greateness of DR RAJKUMAR is more than any of the below. Take a look at the roles which he has played.. From devotional, patriotic to James bondish.. Everything...

Mallikarjun, there are two kinds of great actors in India, One based on Popularity, but not necessarily based on Acting skills, and the other based on Acting Skills, but not popularity, and some both. Dr Rajkumar falls in the first category and actors like Nazeeruddin Shah, Mohanlal, kamalHaasan and Mammootty falls in the second category (Although they are popular as well). Just check the number of National awards each of them received and then decide. It is childish to say that one actor is the greatest actor in the world based on popularity in a region. If you say that National Awards for the last 50 years are biased because it was not given to the actor popular in your region, I dont have anything else to say!!

HAHAHA..For YOUR kind information, he never got the Highest National AWARD FOR ACTING aka BHARATH AWARD, which I am talking about, unless you gave it to him separately. From wikipedia: Awards and honors Rajkumar was awarded numerous State and National awards. He was a recipient of the Padma Bhushan award, a doctorate from Mysore University, and the Karnataka Ratna, the highest civilian honour of the State of Karnataka, recognizing him as a "Jewel of Kannada films." In 1995 he received the prestigious Dadasaheb Phalke Award for his outstanding contributions to the Kannada film industry. Manoj Bajpayee, Irfan Khan are far superior actors. Not only Dr. Raj Kumar, but Shivaji Ganesan, Gemini Ganeshan, N.T.Rama Rao were absolute HAMS. They never knew what underplaying is all about. Moreover, how many people outside Karnataka have heard of Dr.Raj Kumar?

mallikarjun assole dont show your kannada brains there are number of good actors who act better than rajkumar and kamal is one of the higest decorated indian actors dont be a frog in well and always chant rajkumar manthra other than him you dont have a worthy actor to talk about
Sivaji Ganeshan should be the greatest Indian actor of all time rather easily. Dilip Kumar comes second and Kamal third, but still the other two lacks the versatility and technicality of Kamal.
Naturally gifted actors and also theater exponents like Nagesh, M.R Radha, Chandrababu, Mohanlal, NTR, Sanjeev Kumar, Ranga Rao to Nasseruddin Shah and Om Puri who can do any role effortlessly probably fall in the next rung.

Shivaji Ganesan was the eptiome of over-the-top acting and melodrama. He could ham in all the scenes and bore people to sleep/death.. please don't say he's a great actor.. people will make fun of you.

Nothing harm in educating yourself even if you do not understand acting.
Google for Brando and Sivaji you would get to know what happened when those two thespians met at their peak of their powers in France. Its just for a sample, not some self appreciative wikipedia site info or local awards.

I was under the same impression abt Siva few yrs back. But when I watched some of the B&W movies of his, I am forced to change my opinion. He has done execeptionally great roles with so much ease. But the movies that came out in 80's spoiled him as the roles offered was not to his calibre, may be except for Mudhal Mariyadhai, as Kamal rightly said. it was like feeding curd rice to a lion.
Apparently, Hansika was taken aback when she heard through the media that plans were afoot to build a temple in her tribute. Hansika quickly summoned her fans and advised them against going ahead with the over-ambitious plan. Even Hansika’s mother was against the idea of a temple as the family thought it would cause them huge embarrassment
