In herapheri his name was Baburao Ganpatrao aapate not Ganpatrao Baburao Aapate. This is a silly mistake in the article.

He is an over rated actor. There are a dime a dozen better actors in this category down south who don't get the recognition because Bollywood is in Hindi and plas in more States.

Good actor no doubt, but not great by any means.
Only North Indians who haven't seen much of others think he's great.

Thilakan, Jagadi.. there are so many like that

sameer, why compare him with other actors? Separate your biased view and concentrate on how he has contributed to the field by fitting into the roles assigned to him with ease! He is a maharashtrian, gujarati, panjabi, politician or even a villain exactly becoming what the role demanded! His involvement in various roles was very natural and convincing!pl don't bring in your prejudices here.

100% agree with you.Not only that. There are no actors in India on par with likes of the greats like Kamal Haasan,Mohanlal,Mamooty. But Bollywood actors are projected as the best in India for reason which I could not understand.

First on foremost by no means Paresh Rawal is a over rated actor

I am southindian myself and huge admirer and follower of south indian movies and actors.

Due to language barrier....south indian actors do not have visibility throughout the country this does not make any one less or great actor

I suggest you to watch Tammana movies of praesh rawal and if you still feel the same....its your choice...

You should have included the role in Malamal Weekly. I have seen many of his roles. But it was the film I seen two times only to see Paresh Rawal . It was great.

Paresh Rawal

Sardar was excellent. No one other than Paresh Rawal could have done justice to that role. I have seen Paresh Rawal in Gujarati drama as well. On stage he is as powerful as in cinema. He delivers dialogue with such an ease, never indulging in too much of melodrama. Happy Birthday, Sir!

I think his best role was in Raja & you missed it. He even picked up few awards for the same.
Poor list. Standards coming down

How come two of his most famous roles - in Naam (1986) and Hungama (2003) are missing? Completely different roles but he was outstanding in both.
